1) LA Fitness does not charge an annual (maintenance fee) fee for active memberships… historically. That could change. 2) To put a hold on your membership (freeze it and you are not allowed to use the gym during this period) they will charge you $10 a month and you can only hold it up to 6 months and I believe (not quite sure on this last part) you are restricted from doing it every 6 months.
