I haven't actually ever made a diamond axe because it didn't seem useful (it uses the same amount of diamonds as a pickaxe), but I figured I'd find out what silk touch can do on an axe, and if it was worth it, I'd get it.

All you need is a line of flowers and a bunch of saplings. Plant the saplings one block away from the flower. There is less than a 5% chance that the tree will grow with a hive on it, but it is a chance! You just need patience. okay, I know theres a few beehives in my area, but that's a cool idea.
