While plenty of CrossFit workouts will absolutely leave you feeling that way, some won't. Some days, the point of the workout is just to lift heavy stuff and get stronger or to work on technique for more complicated barbell movements so that you can eventually add more weight and get stronger.

Recently, I inadvertently became the test subject in a fitness experiment, but I answered the question…Will CrossFit make you stronger? The quick answer: CrossFit will make you stronger (not exceptionally strong…ever) if you are weak. CrossFit will make you weaker if you are already strong.
The big challenge is that if you are already doing a ton of CrossFit workouts per week and then you just start adding in a bunch of additional stuff to help get you stronger you can easily overtrain – CrossFit is likely already pushing the limits of your recovery. In addition how strong you are is going to affect how often you should workout.
Second, your muscles repair themselves and in the process get gradually stronger while you rest. Yep, you actually get stronger while you rest. Before CrossFit, I would go to the gym five or six...
To be good at CrossFit, you need to be super efficient and strong overhead, so I really had to shift my focus more on overhead pressing strength than the bench press. It paid off. I also did a lot of high-rep overhead work, which seems to be more effective than maximal loads to build the delts.
If you want to get better at CrossFit, you're going to have to CrossFit. You can't just show up once or twice a week, on top of running and spinning and barre class or whatever other forms of exercise you're holding on to. I'm not saying that you have to quit everything else that you love, but you're going to have to make CrossFit your main focus if you want to get better.
Instead of focusing on simply being able to do more pull-ups, handstand push-ups, or muscle-ups, focus on getting stronger on the strict versions with added weight. 3 – You need to have a high level of conditioning. You not only need a solid base of aerobic capacity but also anaerobic capacity and a high lactate threshold.

It’s the same reason why you don’t use CrossFit to get strong and a ripped/ jacked/ excellent physique. Getting strong and ripped is much easier than blowing your body out with CrossFit, the frantic, yapping, directionless Jack Russel Terrier of exercise routines.
You'll begin to respect endurance and stamina. When you're a kid, your idea of strength revolves around how much one can lift, what someone's arms and chest look like, etc. If you haven't yet grown out of this idea, you will upon beginning CrossFit. You will begin to be much more amazed at things like quad strength and lower back strength.
